Soliloquy Bride Heather
Every now and then we receive wedding day images from a bride and it just takes our breath away. When Soliloquy Bride Heather sent in her photos from Jessica Mae Photography, our jaws dropped! Heather’s Soliloquy was Simple, Sophisticated and Sexy. Definitely a good combination! She achieved this with her figure flattering gown by Heidi Elnora and classic veil by Veil Trends Couture.
We touched based with Heather to tell us more about her beautiful nuptials in Annapolis, Maryland to hubby Luke.
Tell us a little about the day of your wedding:
It was planned to be outdoors (at least for the ceremony, reception was covered) and the day before our wedding the forecast called for the worst possible weather. 100% chance of rain, heavy downpours, gusty winds of up to 50mph, hail and even small tornadoes!! To say I was a little stressed out is an understatement.
But guess what happened? I woke up, the morning of my wedding and yes, it was drizzling. But as my girls and i were getting our hair done, slowly, the forecast for the day started to change. We ended up having no rain for our first look, ceremony and even got sunset portraits. That was truly magical to me and I’ll treasure our wedding photos for the rest of my life.
How do you think you were able to meet the expectation of your perfect day?
There is so, so much that goes into planning wedding and without a doubt, having the support of my now husband throughout the whole planning process was the reason I was able to achieve my perfect day. I did not have a planner, which meant wedding planning became a second job in the evenings and on the weekends. Luke, along with my bridesmaids, were there every step of the way to help ease my stress or at the very least, have a glass of wine with me 🙂
What elements of your wedding meant the most to you?
I absolutely adored my dress, I didn’t want to take it off! As cliche as it sounds, I felt like an absolute princess in it. I’ll never ever forget the look on Luke’s face during our first look – we both got teary eyed and he looked so handsome in his tux. I’ll also never forget the look on his face when I walked down the aisle! Seeing him beforehand didn’t dull that moment at all, I think it actually even enhanced it.
Another element of my wedding that I loved were my flowers, especially my bouquet. A friend of the family who is a freelance florist did my flowers and you can totally tell the love and hard work that went into all of it.
Speaking of your dress, How did you know it was “the one”?
Soliloquy was my first bridal shop and my Heidi Elnora dress was the third dress I tried on. However, I had thoguht I wanted to lace dress with straps, so I kept going to other shops trying to find that “perfect dress” when in reality, I kept comparing everything I tried on to the heidi dress!! It ended up being my dream dress and I couldn’t imagine anything different!
How did your overall look play into the feelings of bliss clearly seen on your face? Specifically, how did the veil make you feel?
The feelings of bliss were from being so happy that our wedding day had finally arrived! The anticipation of becoming Mr. and Mrs. Elliott was growing each day leading up to our wedding and we couldn’t wait to be married!
The veil most definitely made me feel like a bride. It’s funny, because I had originally wanted a cathedral length veil, but when I tried on the tiered Veil Trends veil, I knew that was the perfect one for my dress! It was a little windy on our wedding day which also made for great veil pictures.
Why were the colors you chose important to you?
Throughout wedding planning, I was drawn to a very classic, timeless look and I love soft, muted colors. Even though we got married in Annapolis, I actually stayed away from a nautical theme because I felt like that would be too expected. I am so happy with the way everything came out!
Thanks for sharing Heather. xoxo
